About

My work began at the bench and continues at the bedside. I trained as a research assistant in a functional genomics lab at Virginia Commonwealth University and now work as an ophthalmology technician, performing the diagnostic testing, including OCT, refraction, visual fields, and biometry, that guides patient care and surgical planning. Along the way I became second author on a peer-reviewed case report in ophthalmology, and I have seen firsthand how diagnostic technology, clinical judgment, and regulation meet in daily practice.

That vantage point is shaping my path toward law school. I am focused on health law, medical malpractice, and the regulation of artificial intelligence in healthcare, questions of who is accountable when clinical tools that increasingly diagnose and decide are wrong. I write and build at that intersection, working toward a career in health policy and law.

Why it matters

Building in healthcare and other regulated fields has made one problem especially concrete for me: technical systems do not determine responsibility on their own. Law decides who may act, what evidence counts, how risk is allocated, and what remedy exists when a system fails. Atheonix is where I test those questions in practice, and it is a central reason I am pursuing legal training.
